Key Information

Our essential question in Year 6 this term is: “How has African history shaped Britain?”

We will be learning about the links between Africa and Britain in history. This will include learning about Britain's role in the slave trade, and Maafa. We will be researching the inspirational black people who have driven change. We will be producing artwork inspired by our learning.

This term, we will also be working on our year 6 production of Peter Pan.

PE lessons will take place on a Friday afternoon. Please send your child to school in their PE kit as they will not be able to change at school. Please make sure your child's PE kit conforms with our uniform policy.

This term, homework will include Reading, times tables and spellings. Your child will also neeed to make sure they are becoming familair with the Peter Pan script and learning their lines.

Reading - Your child should read every day at home and record their reading in their orange reading record.

Spelling -  Fun spelling games can be found on Spelling Shed – your child should play a few games on spelling shed most days.

Maths - Children are also expected to use TTRockstars to practise their times tables several times a week. We will occasionally set tournaments on TTRockstars so that the children can have class competitions.

All passwords for these games are written on the inside front cover of their reading records and they all know how to log on. Please let us know if you have difficulty accessing these games.

SATs - Children will sit their SATs in May this term in the week beginning 9.5.22
